Course Information & Policies
Who Needs This Course?
The Maryland MVA-approved 3-Hour Roadway Safety Driving Education Program is for certain applicants seeking a Maryland driver's license, including individuals who hold a valid driver's license from another country.
Individuals with a driver's license from another U.S. state or territory, Canada, or the Yukon Territory do not need to complete this program.
Online Course
Payment must be completed before receiving access to the online course.
After successful payment, students will be directed to the online course registration page to create their course account.
The online course must be completed within 2 months of registration. Course access may be deactivated after the 2-month period.
Course access is for the registered student only and may not be shared with another person.
In-Person Course
The in-person course is instructor-led and offered based on availability. Payment is required before attending the class. Students must complete the 3-hour course and pass the 20-question final exam.
Final Exam
The final exam consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass.
For a live Zoom exam, the student must remain on camera during the exam.
If you do not pass, you must wait 24 hours before retaking the exam. A $10 retest fee applies.
Identification
Students must provide valid identification, such as a passport, foreign driver's license, Maryland ID, or other acceptable identification.
Certificate & MVA Submission
After successfully completing the course and passing the final exam, completion may be submitted electronically to the MVA when applicable, or an official certificate will be issued.
Paper certificates are valid for one year from the date of issuance.
Payment & Refund Policy
Payment is required before attending the in-person class or accessing the online course.
Once access to the online course has been provided and the course has been started, the online course fee is non-refundable.
No refund will be issued after course completion or certification.
